A nursery sneak peek

I have been planning to make a piece of art for baby boy's nursery for awhile now and this week, I finally started and finished it! I am so tickled over how it turned out. The entire nursery isn't done yet, but I just couldn't wait to show you how this turned out.

I saw the idea on this blog a few months ago. It is a tree mod-podged onto canvas. The original was made from pages of a novel, and one was made with sheet music for her college-aged daughter, but I envisioned something a little different for the nursery.

I got lucky when I found an old Winnie the Pooh Golden Book from the 1960s that was already falling apart (so I didn't feel tooo bad cutting up the pages). The pictures were fantastic and since I was creating a tree with the pages, it was appropriate that the title of the book was "The Honey Tree."

I wanted my pieces a little messier and less precise than my predecessors, and hanging Pooh from the tree wasn't planned but when my mom found that picture in the book, it was obvious that it would really make the perfect addition to the canvas.

This is hanging over baby boy's crib. Can't wait for you to see how great it looks with the rest of the nursery!

  2. I love this so much!!! It's adorable made with pages that actually have pictures and the little pooh hanging from it is so cute! I also really like the more abstract look of your tree. Such a great project; THANK YOU for sharing!! I'll feature this on Saturday!
